Batty for Bats! Discover Amazing Beneficial Bats
Saturday, February 6 at 12:00 PM in the Sprout Stage
Sunday, February 7 at 12:00 PM in the Sprout Stage
Colleen is simply batty for bats! Not only are they so ugly they're cute,
but they do such wonderful things for us. They pollinate food, spread seeds
to grow new forests, eat tons of mosquitoes and their poop is very useful!
Dressed in her silly, furry bat costume, Colleen will share fun facts, show
pictures of bats and provide a coloring page and puzzles. This is good for
kids of all ages!
Make a Green Roof Birdhouse Build a Fun & Functional Garden

Buildings with a 'living roof' are all the rage with the focus on
ecologically-minded construction techniques. Now you, too, can have a green
roof. Use sod or plants with ground covering form to build a fun garden
ornament your neighborhood birds will enjoy. Seminar includes step-by-step
instruction on how to choose a birdhouse for retro-fitting along with all
the details of construction. Illustrated handout with instructions and
suitable plants provided.
Colleen will teach the 2010 class of Kitsap County Master Gardeners
Landscape Design Basics on March 19, 2010.
Look for Colleen’s upcoming articles in the spring 2010 issue of WestSound Home
& Garden Magazine on the topics of selecting fruit trees for Kitsap County
and growing perennial edibles. On the newsstand early March.
